So, the Kiran Rao Effect is making Aamir cuter, cozier and funnier than ever before. Seriously, don’t we prefer media-friendly Aamir to avoid-media-like-the-plague Aamir?
And in his new-found openness, he’s candid about so many things! The cool thing about Aamir, I think, is that he’s always rather oblivious about what’s cool and what’s not, what’s trending and what isn’t. He just follows his heart and his vision and therefore aces pretty much everything.

At the recent Thinkfest in Goa he revealed that:
1. The original cut of Lagaan was 7.5 hours long. 7.5! Insanity.
2. He’s an ideal audience member when he watches a film (which isn’t that often), crying, laughing and even shouting at the characters on screen. How cute is that?
3. He’s a huge, like HUGE, Govinda fan! Who knew? I’ve never heard anyone praise Govinda so highly (other than David Dhawan and you know he doesn’t count). Aamir said that if he’s flipping channels on TV and a Govinda movie shows up, he’ll stop flipping and watch the whole movie.
So there you go, AK snobs. In fact, the moderator was so taken aback by this confession, no doubt bursting his bubble of “Aamir Khan is the only intelligent man in Bollywood”, you could see his respect-o-meter dropping a few notches.
Loving masala does not a dumbass make, intellectuals. Lighten up!
