Get Filmy is written by Shakila Hashem, a Bollywood-obsessive since birth. Actually, since pichle janam more likely.
For this third culture kid currently residing in New York, forever in a state of cultural upheaval, Bollywood has remained the one cultural constant. Wherever I’ve lived, no matter how much of an outsider I may have felt myself to be, there was Amitabh & Shashi to rely on as a child, Aamir, Salman & Shahrukh to dream about as a teen and the global explosion of Bollywood cinema to witness as an adult.
So I don’t measure my life in coffee spoons, but I do measure it by Hindi films – forever intertwined with my personal chronology. To say it is my passion would be an understatement.
Gossip, non-reviews, articles, deep thoughts, shallow thoughts, dhishoom thoughts, dhinchak thoughts – all of it is here on this blog. My interest isn’t just limited to the films, but extends to the entire culture of Bollywood as an industry – the celebrities, royal families, the unshakable nepotism, the way business is conducted, professional and unprofessional behavior, the media, the rumor mills, the denials, the camps, PR and everything else.
Also, please note that I am a fan of all Three Khans because I come from that sane era when being a fan of one didn’t automatically make you the enemy of the other.

I think it is very important to write about the author of any blog.(like gender/his or her work/rough age /country and his general other interests) It servers a purpose. For the readers it gives the idea about the perspective of the author posts.
nuansed,
I totally agree! Will try to get a proper about page up soon, it’s just a pet peeve of mine – I HATE writing about myself…. :p You can get a better sense of me on twitter in the meantime!
I love your disclaimer that you are a fan of all Three Khans. I’m a superfan of one of the Khan but I don’t go auto-hate mode on the other two
